It was couple of years back when I was watching Sahara One channel, there was an inimitable Kavi sammelan program in which all members of Bachchan family were present. Amitabh Bachchan recited his father-late Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s Madhushala poetry, and later even got to know that this event is organized every year. The Akhil Bharatiya Kavi Sammelan organised on the birth anniversary of one of the greatest Hindi poets and composer of 'Madhushala', Harivansh Rai Bachchan. It was the day I started liking and enjoying Hindi poetry.

Madhushala is one of Harivansh Rai Bachchan's most famous compositions. Madhushala-which means The Tavern/The House of Wine, explains the complexity of life with four instruments, which appear in almost every verse: madhu, madira or haala (wine), saaki (server), pyaala (cup or glass) and of course madhusala, madiralaya (pub/bar). "Madhushala" an eternal creation by Shri Harivansh Rai Bachhan was a craze, and whenever Mr. Harivansh Rai Bachhan presented it on Stage, the audience became so personally involved in it that the entire Hall seemed to be swayed under the influence of the message in it. But if ever asked to introduce himself, he had a simple introduction: Mitti ka tan, masti ka man, kshan-bhar jivan -- mera parichay.

Madhushala is not about encouraging one adoring to alcoholism, but it’s an art of describing different phases of life. Few verses of our madhushala which describes the different scenarios of life as said are mentioned below.

What a film by Anurag! DEV D, a Anuragh Kashyap’s movie, is so different from the routine commercial flick. Devdas classic drafted in a modern style keeping in mind the taste of Gen-X… really an out-of-box approach. A bengali story in a punjabi ishtyle, or in other way, presenting roshogulla(Rasgulla) as a punjabi dish to the diversified audience. The way 1st part of the movie is scripted… simply awesome. Dev and Paro’s chemistry did all the magix. Splendidly worked by Abhay specially and other cast. Music by Amit Trivedi is awe inspiring as never before in some last years in Bollywood. Dhol yaara dhol and Nayan tarse are the real tapping numbers and ofcos Emosional atyachaar. 2nd half (Chandramukhi part) was comparatively @ slow pace, but overall a worth watching. Abhay Doel is an under rated actor but he is a very fine actor around in bolly. He was also impressive in his earlier movies like ‘Manorama 6feet under’ and ‘Ek chalis ki last local’. His movies are always worth watching, as they are not so typical bollywood kind.
